Trout and Salmon
New Zealand offers unlimited possibilities for both the fisherman and non-fishing companion.  Pristine rivers, streams and lakes in which big brown and rainbow trout reside can be found throughout the country.  The saltwater and bluewater fishing is also superb.

The best way to enjoy New Zealand is a fishing and touring holiday.  Go Fishing Worldwide is happy to arrange your whole holiday or part of it.  We have included a number of lodges with some examples of prices for 3 night stays in a Bed and Breakfast with 2 days’ guided fishing.  The length of stay is just a guide, and we can tailor-make an itinerary to suit your individual requirements.

FISHING GUIDES
A fishing guide will enhance your fishing holiday taking you to the best pools and assisting with sight fishing and stalking.  Their knowledge of local conditions and techniques is invaluable and will often make the difference between an enjoyable or disappointing holiday.  You can waste a lot of valuable time trying to do it yourself, a guide is a good investment.  Our guides have been carefully chosen and we have guides in the most important fishing areas of the country.  We can arrange accommodation for you in a bed and breakfast, hotel or motel and as many days’ guiding as you wish.  Wilderness trips with one or two nights staying in mountain huts are a great way to get off the beaten track.

Heli-fishingHeli-Fishing
is also popular in New Zealand, there is nothing more exciting than flying to a hidden stream with your guide to enjoy a day’s fishing.

We have fishing guides in the following areas:
North Island Lake Taupo, Rotorua, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay
South Island  Nelson Lakes, Mount Cook, Wanaka, Queenstown, Southland (Fiordland)
FISHING SEASONS
The North Island has a number of streams which are open year round whereas the South Island is open from 1 October to 30 April or 31 May in some areas.  Fishing is excellent throughout, but spring - October and November - is particularly good as there has been no fishing for 5 months and there are less visitors than in February and March.
